Leh

Khardung La Pass

Khardung La Pass is the gateway to Nubra Valley from Leh. It is located at an altitude of 18,379 feet and is the highest motor-able road in the world. From Leh city it is 40 kilometers distant. The twisted and twirled roads will take you on a roller coaster ride along with the spectacular scenes of the valley. Snowy Mountains are adorned with the colored Tibetan flags parallel to it. It is strategically connected to Manali and Kashmir. It is an ancient trade route to supply the basics. However, these days it is of great significance for Indian army to carry the logistics. This Pass offers the scenic vistas and splendid picturesque to the riders.

Nubra Valley

Nubra Valley is in the North-East direction of Leh via highest motor-able road Khardung La Pass. Nubra Valley offers the gorgeous views to make you spell bound and catching your eyes and heart at the same time. Diskit Village is an important village in Nubra Valley and is popular for Diskit Monastery which was built by by Lama SherabZangpo, is claimed to be the most notable place to visit in the village. Camel ride on sand dunes and green landscapes takes you to another unique world. Just take a short walk to the nearby sights to soak your soul into lovely and enchanting place. Pangong Lake

Situated at 4,350 meters from sea level, the ‘narrow, enchanted lake’ as Pangong Tso is known as, extends from Tibet to India while 60% of the lake is in Tibet. Although a saline water lake, completely freezes it over during winters. It is a separate land locked water body and is not a part of the Indus river basin. Under the Ramsar Convention, it is being identified as wetland of international significance and will be the first wetland in South Asia as per the convention. The drive to lake from Leh covers rough terrains and cross Gya and Shey villages centered on monasteries. This road traverses famed Chang La pass crossing villages of Tangste.

 Tso Moriri

Lake Moriri situated in Changthang is situated at an altitude of 4,595 meters and is the biggest lake among the high altitude lakes in the state. It is completely within Indian Territory and is situated about 160 km from Leh and 540 km from Srinagar. On the banks of the lake is the ancient Korzok Gompa established 400-years ago. And just before the Tso Moriri, there is Lake of Joy, a smaller lake but equally scenic and panoramic. To reach Tso Moriri from Pangong Tso, tourists need to cross over the verdant and untouched Changtang region which is a favored place for trekking in Ladakh. This is the most panoramic and scenic drives in this region.
