Languages

Boti is the chief language in Ladakh. Brokshat, Balti, Shina and Changshat are the other languages spoken. Nevertheless you can find the people speaking English and Hindi language in schools, offices and restaurants.

Money

You can find ATM service of State Bank of India, Jammu and Kashmir Bank and Punjab National Bank in Leh city. Also remember that there are only few hotels, resorts and tour operators that accept credit card charging service tax as 2%.

Connectivity

Pre-paid SIM does not work in Leh Ladakh so you should get your post-paid SIMs. There is no issue of connectivity in main city of Leh while in remote areas you will not be connected. But you will find STD booths all over the region that gets closed before 10 pm.
