Fascinating Markha Valley Trekking Tour

It is one of the sought after treks in Ladakh as the route of Markha Valley does not dishearten anyone. This trek just dribbles the chance to mount the top of two of the high altitude passes- Ganda La (4,800 meters) and Kongmaru La (5,150 meters). It offers the amazing sights that seem to be a delightful treat to eyes.

On this trek, you will come across the wonderful Markha Village that is an accretion in the cold and partially arid terrain of Ladakh. Witnessing the lifestyle of locals, crossing rivers and relishing the less explored trails are other glees of this trek.

Day 1 – India, Leh.

Upon your arrival at Leh, you will be assisted and escorted to the hotel. Since Leh is a high altitude desert, it takes at least a day or two to acclimatize to the conditions. So, relax and take some rest in your hotel. Evening is set at leisure; you may opt to visit the local markets in Leh. It is enriched with culture and is dotted with temples and monasteries.

 

Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Leh.

Day 2 – India, Leh.

To get acclimatize to harsh conditions; one more day in Leh will help you a lot. Unveil the beauty of archaic monasteries, lovely palaces and museums for which the place is popular. Shey Monastery, Thiksey Monastery and Stok Monastery are next in line. These monasteries are in the same destination. You may talk to the locals of Leh to listen the historic stories that belong to the legends and these monasteries. In the evening, a visit to Leh Palace is scheduled. However, rest of the evening; you can spend at your own leisure.

 

Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Leh.

Day 3 – India, Leh.

Post breakfast in Leh, a drive to Zingchen through Spikut Village is on the cards. From Zingchen onwards, the moderate trek begins. The trail goes through Rumbak Village reaching Yurutse and crossing through different streams. Yurutse is an awesome camping site with scantily fields.

Day 4 – India, Leh.

This is another pleasant day with mount to Ganda La as initial stretch of trek. As mentioned earlier, it is a moderate trek, prepare yourself for the steep climbs and strong winds. From the summit, you can soothe your eyes with enchanting views of valleys- Zanskar Range and Other distant Himalayn Range. After that start moving down to Shingo Village. This trail goes through the narrow groge towards Skiu. Skiu is a spectacular spot where confluence of rivers that come from Markha Valley and Shingo is witnessed.

Day 5 – , .

This day is set for a long and moderate trek up to the pleasant Markha Village. Crossing the several streams on the way, you will reach the Markha hamlet. Markha is a village in this cold desert. Thios site is surrounded with green fields, big trees and an isolated palace.

 

Overnight stay will be in camps.

Day 6 – , .

Fetch the scenic views all way around while crossing the rivers and streams. You will be trekking through different settlements and grazing ground. When you walk through Hankar, embrace the spectacular views of Kangyatze Peak.

 

Overnight stay will be in tents.

Day 7 – India, Leh.

Immerse into the stunning views when you take a short walk to arrive at Nimalaing camping site. It is a charming place with beautiful valley with uninhabited grazing sites and the splendid background laced with picturesque Kangyatze Peak. Strong winds may make the trekking difficult but it is totally worth.

 

Overnight stay will be in tents.

Day 8 – India, Leh.

Post breakfast in the morning, start mounting towards the top of the highest pass on the most enthralling trail- Kongmaru La. To the West of Kongmaru La, there lies Nun Kun while to the North, there lies Saser Kangri. Relish some charming moments before ascending to Sukarmo. Onwards Sukarmo, an easy walk along the river will cherish you. This trail ends at Sumdo. This is the end of this trek. A vehicle will transfer you back to Leh.

Day 9 – India, Leh.

You will be transferred to Leh airport. Bid a good bye and catch your return flight to hometown with lots of memories.
